Why Canada Rocks

Oh, Canada… Thou ar’t totally awesome. I had the wonderful privilege of visiting my brother in Red Deer Alberta this spring and many things made me think of how wonderful it is to be Canadian.

Not many people have the luxury of viewing the northern lights while having a campfire in your own backyard on a regular mild summer evening. In the beautiful foothills, one gets the chance. The air itself is refreshingly clear. Because of the lack in humidity, the air holds less temperature than other places like the Great Lakes. This makes for winters that don’t feel as cold as they are and summers that are comfortably warm rather than suffocating hot. The people in Alberta have a way about them that spreads humanity, politeness and humour to the people around them.

I personally find the life style more comforting than here in Ontario. Not to say Ontario isn’t a wonderful place. By golly, I live in a province that provides a strong form of education as well as the opportunity to spread my wings in practically any business. I’m proud of Ontario, but Canada is so huge that it carries many different cultures with it. I’d love to travel this home land of mine and seek the roots of Canada’s culture while meeting the people that make it this way. Every province and every city seems to hold its own passions; I’d hate to miss out on these things. No matter where I live in the future I’ll consider myself Canadian.
